Welcome! 

The Life science industry in Umeå is growing, and the success factor is collaboration. To foster effective collaborations, we must get to know each other and establish bridges between academia, industry, and the region. 

Therefore, we welcome you to the Life Science pub on November 13, at Orangeriet Boule & Bistro, Umeå, where we mingle across organizational boundaries. 

The pub is open to everyone (professionals) related to life science. Feel free to forward the invitation to someone you think should attend.

Time: 16.00-22.00

UBI Boule Cup & UBI Dart Cup: The boule and dart tournament kicks off with a briefing at 16.15, and the first games are at 16.30. Look further down for the draw and schedule. 
Note 1: Arrive at the pub well in time before your first match to check in and find your court.
Note 2: Arrive at the court at least five minutes before the start of your match. Teams/Players are responsible for being on the right court.

Food: Fish tacos with a vegetarian alternative are offered. You buy the drinks yourself at the bar. 

Activities: You can play billiards and shuffleboard for free between 16.00-20.00. Additionally, friendly boule and dart matches can be played for free on available courts after the tournaments, until 20.00.

Registration deadline is November 6. If you register after the deadline, you will be put on a waiting list and can only attend if we get cancellations.

Note: Remember to cancel (unregister) if you cannot attend. If you don't cancel, you will be charged a no-show fee of SEK 200.

Participation fee: This event is sponsored by Umeå Biotech Incubator (UBI) with support from the European Union. There is no actual fee for participating. For delegates from the industry, state-aid/de-minimis will be accounted for corresponding to 1 000 SEK per person.

State aid & de-minimis: Umeå Biotech Incubator is obliged to account for activities they arrange, and support they provide, that are directed to specific companies or a group of companies where the receiving companies do not pay market price for the participation. The value of this support is accounted for as state-aid.Small amounts of State aid (‘de minimis’ aid) are exempted from State aid control, as they are deemed to have no impact on competition and trade in the internal market of the European Union (EU). De minimis aid indeed refers to small amounts of State aid to undertakings (companies) that do not have to be notified to the European Commission by the EU Member States.
